On 25th May, Stéphanie de Boüard-Rivoal hosted a gala dinner in honour of Angélus organised by the company Double Win at the Résidence Bel-Air Hotel in Hong Kong.
2012 was highlighted by major events in the history of Château Angélus: reaching the rank of First Great Classified Growth “A”, the arrival of the eighth generation on the Executive Board and the launch of construction work to extend and embellish the property. The Boüard de Laforest family therefore wished to celebrate this year with a new bottle: a remarkable bottle for remarkable vintage.
The hallowed cellars that have enabled Château Angélus to reach the summit of excellence have been completely refurbished. With the very precious and competent support of two architects, Arnaud Boulain, who oversaw the works and Jean-Pierre Errath, working for the French authority for listed buildings and as a consultant, the new cellars are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The existing buildings were completely reorganised to echo the image of Château Angélus, highlighting the campanological theme and viticultural tradition in harmony with the values of Saint-Emilion. The 2013 vintage “Winegrowers are always careful before making definitive claims about the quality of a vintage. All our hard work and time spent in the vines and in the cellars contribute to bringing out the best of what nature gives us.” (Hubert de Boüard). After a rainy spring, which triggered poor fruit set and “hens and chicks” ...

The restaurant was recently acquired by Château Angélus and a fresh, young, enthusiastic team has been introduced to present a new menu for the 2014 season, which will be served in its three lounges and on the terrace that have all been recently renovated. A new chef, Alexandre Baumard, now officiates in the kitchen. Alexandre learned his trade alongside Benoit Vidal at Mas des Herbes Blanches, Paul Bocuse at l’Auberge du Pont de Collonges, Christophe Bacquié at Hôtel du Castellet and Laurent Saudeau at Manoir de la Boulaie. The gourmet dishes on offer are in tune with today’s trends, reflecting the family brasserie style with traditional delights prepared with good local produce and a modern twist. The wine list...
