Angélus received the famous pianist Natasha Paremski during the 12th International Classical Music Festival.
Château Angélus delivered a master class during the international Vie Vinum wine festival held at the Hofburg Palace convention centre in Vienna. About forty attendees, who were journalists, restaurateurs and enthusiasts enjoyed a superb vertical tasting of Angélus wines and the very informative and passionate commentary given by Emmanuelle d'Aligny-Fulchi, the Technical Director at Angélus.
On 25th May, Stéphanie de Boüard-Rivoal hosted a gala dinner in honour of Angélus organised by the company Double Win at the Résidence Bel-Air Hotel in Hong Kong.
2012 was highlighted by major events in the history of Château Angélus: reaching the rank of First Great Classified Growth “A”, the arrival of the eighth generation on the Executive Board and the launch of construction work to extend and embellish the property. The Boüard de Laforest family therefore wished to celebrate this year with a new bottle: a remarkable bottle for remarkable vintage.
The hallowed cellars that have enabled Château Angélus to reach the summit of excellence have been completely refurbished. With the very precious and competent support of two architects, Arnaud Boulain, who oversaw the works and Jean-Pierre Errath, working for the French authority for listed buildings and as a consultant, the new cellars are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The existing buildings were completely reorganised to echo the image of Château Angélus, highlighting the campanological theme and viticultural tradition in harmony with the values of Saint-Emilion. The outline of the chateau surrounded by its vines lures the observer into the landscape, blending into it, while nevertheless creating a contrast that makes it stand out and exist. This year, wine professionals were invited to experience Château Angélus 2013, the family properties and the wines of Hubert de Boüard Consulting from 31st March to 4th April at Château Angélus. More than 2,500 people attended and took the opportunity to taste a selection of sixty wines and visit Château Angélus’ new winery. The 2013 vintage “Winegrowers are always careful before making definitive claims about the quality of a vintage. Experienced winegrowers know very well that wines very often reveal their qualities progressively. Logis de la Cadène welcomed its first guests on Monday 3rd March. The restaurant was recently acquired by Château Angélus and a fresh, young, enthusiastic team has been introduced to present a new menu for the 2014 season, which will be served in its three lounges and on the terrace that have all been recently renovated. A new chef, Alexandre Baumard, now officiates in the kitchen. Alexandre learned his trade alongside Benoit Vidal at Mas des Herbes Blanches, Paul Bocuse at l’Auberge du Pont de Collonges, Christophe Bacquié at Hôtel du Castellet and Laurent Saudeau at Manoir de la Boulaie.
