The vines were in perfect health, which coupled with the superb weather we enjoyed at the beginning of this autumn, made it possible for us to pick the grapes at the best time on each plot. The fruit was magnificent and picking went on for almost a whole month! Crunchy Merlot grapes with lovely fruity aromas and lots of freshness. And in this vintage, the beautifully ripe Cabernet Franc highlights the bold Angélus combination of grape varieties more than ever.
We all agree that this vintage should be called THE MAGNIFICENT.
That’s it! Angélus’ magnificent Merlot has been picked. Ripe, but not excessively so, crunchy, fruity and very fresh.
When we tasted the first tanks, they confirmed the potential we expected of the fruit: good honest aromas, lots of tannins of good quality.
Now the team has started picking the Cabernet Franc grapes, which are Angélus’ crown jewels. Even though the variety does not dominate completely, it covers almost half the area planted with vines. Cabernet Franc contributes elegance, subtlety and density with a silky feel.
They too are magnificent this year and will contribute significantly to the enrichment of this new vintage.
We have started picking today and the grapes are magnificent. You can see the first pictures of the 2015 harvest.
Angélus sponsored Irma’s live concert, which was part of her “Face to Face Tour”, at Hong Kong’s Vine Center. To celebrate the event, a tasting cocktail of Château Angélus was organised with representatives of watchmakers A. Lange & Söhne, with Mr. Eric Berti the Consul General of France, as well as a number of great connoisseurs and the press.

During the 13th International Classical Music Festival, Angélus received the pianist Andrei Korobeinikov, who played pieces by Scriabin, Chopin and Schumann to an audience of 350, all spell-bound before the amazing talent of this young virtuoso.
Angélus, having sponsored the 2015 class of the National Oenologist’s Diploma course, hosted the graduation ceremony for about fifty students from Bordeaux’s Wine and Vine Science Institute.
