Produced entirely from vines belonging to Angelus, these two cuvées consist of a red wine by the name of Clos du Milieu and a white wine called Blanc du Milieu.
Clos du Milieu is sourced from a single plot, entirely planted with Merlot, bordered by hedgerows. This new cuvée whose vines are situated in the centre of our vineyard in the commune of Castillon-la-Bataille, just a few kilometres from Saint-Emilion, in the magnificent cool, deep clay-limestone soils of the upper slope, displays freshness, tension et density. The Clos du Milieu offers the finest expression of Merlot and gives an elegant, structured wine with good ageing potential.
Blanc du Milieu is the result of a selection from a 1.7 hectare plot of vines made up of the Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc grape varieties, also situated in the commune of Castillon-la-Bataille.
These two cuvées have been produced with the specific aim of creating wines under the Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux and the IGP Vin de Pays de l’Atlantique appellations and thus, while they widen the Angelus range of wines, they also contribute to the promotion of the Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux appellation. Vinified at our Chai Carillon, in a unique cellar, these two cuvées enjoy the care and attention provided by a handful of passionately committed and dedicated vignerons who help endow them with the stature of great wines.
