Château Angelus is writing a new chapter in its history in launching an ambitious programme of works, under the direction of the architect and designer Olivier Chadebost.

Order and beauty, design and technical excellence. These are the watchwords being closely observed in the creation of the new Château Angelus vat room, the inauguration of which is set for 2024. The driving force behind this project is the permanent quest for high quality and innovation at every stage of the production process. In rejecting the use of pumps and limiting the handling procedures, this gravity-fed, two-floor vat room will preserve and guarantee the intactness of the grapes and thus enable the wines to gain in precision, elegance and complexity. The vat room’s inverted and suspended tronco-conical vats combine the three historical materials used at Angelus – wood, stainless steel and concrete, one of the factors contributing to the typicity of its wines. A cellar within the cellar will be dedicated to the making of the Hommage à Elisabeth Bouchet cuvée.
The creation of this ‘haute couture’ vat room was entrusted to the Bordeaux architect Olivier Chadebost, of Bordeaux’s Chadebost Créations, who redesigned in one slick movement the hospitality experience of Angelus. The southern façade of the property will thus be embellished with new finery, offering visitors a unique experience with timelessness as its central theme.
