Every year, the Salariés agricoles de Gironde association organises a vine-pruning competition for all of the wine appellations on Bordeaux’s left bank.

The skill involved in manual pruning has today become deservedly recognised, and we were very pleased to host at Angelus the 5th stage on the 60th anniversary of this competition and to take part as the only wine estate representing Bordeaux’s right bank. 
This competition offered the opportunity to discover a new pruning, to meet other vine pruners and to exchange views on pruning skills.

After the practical event, which involved pruning 15 vines in 30 minutes, the 40 pruners taking part in the competition were given a tour of the estate, followed by a tasting of our wines.

We also wish all the participants the best of luck for the last stage of the competition, which will take place on Saturday March 19th.
