The Saint-Émilion Jazz Festival brings together each year outstanding international musicians to perform in the heart of Saint-Emilion’s UNESCO world heritage site. Angélus, as one of the partners of this 6th edition, is delighted to host within its walls “La Dégustation Musicale”, which will be performed by the jazz musician Yaron Herman. Dégustation Musicale is an event which calls on each of the senses. In performing this work the artist is presented with the challenge of improvising music to interpret the wines of Angélus, an exercise that requires great sensitivity.
While being an integral part of the contemporary piano jazz scene, Yaron Herman is not afraid of showing his penchant for pop and in particular performing his own cover versions. This sits well with his extrovert musical style, giving us glimpses of his influences and contributing to his popularity and recognition as a talented artist. Eager to push back musical frontiers, he has performed in outstanding concerts with the Ebène quartet, concert artist Bertrand Chamayou, and more recently with Matthieu Chédid. In October 2014, Yaron Herman signed an agreement to record three albums under the prestigious Blue Note Label. The following album “Y”, in which he plays in a trio with Ziv Ravitz and Bastien Burger (the bass player of the group “The Dø”), and joins up with guest performers Hugh Coltman, Dream Koala and Matthieu Chedid, came out in March 2017.
