Conversations with my Gardener

Conversations with my Gardener is the adaptation for cinema of the novel with the same name by Henri Cueco. Having established a good reputation as a painter in Paris, a man in his fifties returns to his origins in rural France by acquiring the house where he grew up. However, he lacks the ambition and the skill to maintain the reasonably large piece of land around the building. He therefore posts a local advertisement to hire a gardener. The first candidate, who turns out to be the one accepted, is an old mate of his. They were together at the local school, but had lost track of each other and are now reunited. The mate becomes the gardener.
