For his first mission, James Bond must defeat Le Chiffre the all-powerful private financier of international terrorist organisations. In order to bankrupt him and dismantle the largest criminal network that has ever existed, Bond must beat him in a high-stakes poker game at Casino Royale. The beautiful Vesper, an agent for the Treasury, accompanies him to ensure that 007 looks after the British Government’s money, which is used for Bond’s buy-in, but nothing turns out as foreseen.
