CARILLON D’ANGÉLUS AND N° 3 D’ANGÉLUS CELLARS.

THE WORKS ARE SURGING AHEAD

The works being carried out on the cellars of Carillon d’Angélus and N° 3 d’Angélus at Saint-Magne de Castillon are surging ahead and are expected to be completed this summer and thus be operational for the coming harvest.

Following studies taking into account both technical and environmental aspects, a state-of-the-art modern cellar built to include the best high-performing equipment will be replacing the present Carillon d’Angélus and N°3 d’Angélus cellars. Currently in the process of being constructed at Saint-Magne-de-Castillon, the building will feature a harvest reception area with an optical sorting line, a vinification cellar, a cellar for the malo-lactic fermentations and a barrel cellar.

As part of a sustainability project, the building’s structure, half-buried with a vegetal covering, will be equipped with photovoltaic panels which will supply a part of the electricity necessary for the running of the building. In order to fulfill these environmental aims, this new cellar is subject to BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) certification, the British equivalent of HQE (Haute Qualité Environnementale). This certification makes it possible to calculate the environmental performance of a building and guarantees care for the environment for the duration of the project. The new Carillon d’Angélus and N°3 d’Angélus cellars will be operational for the 2019 harvest.
