Held under the high patronage of the President of the French Republic, this exhibition pays tribute to the extraordinary craftsmanship that restored a global landmark. Following its acclaimed debut at the Museum of the Légion d’honneur in Paris, the exhibition embarks on a national tour. Angelus is its first stop among a series of prestigious venues. “We were deeply moved by the values this exhibition embodies—excellence, heritage, and craftsmanship. The connection between architectural and winemaking heritage felt natural to us,” says Stéphanie de Boüard-Rivoal.
Shedding Light on Unsung Artisans
Laurence Bost, the only painter accredited by the public institution Rebuild Notre-Dame de Paris, followed these artisans in their workshops and on-site throughout the restoration process. Her paintings capture the precision and nobility of their craft, bringing their dedication to life.
At Angelus, the exhibition will be displayed in its magnificent nave, a space whose structure echoes the cathedral’s wooden framework. Twenty portraits of artisans—stonecutters, carpenters, glassmakers, sculptors, and more—will be showcased, celebrating the mastery and devotion that revived Notre-Dame.
Visits are by prior arrangement only, on Wednesdays and Fridays from 3pm to 5pm (excluding public holidays, weekends and 2, 9 and 30 May 2025).
